Award Ceremony

The TRT Humanitarian Film Festival successfully held its 2025 Award Ceremony on December 13 at the Atatürk Cultural Center (AKM) in Istanbul, bringing together filmmakers, industry professionals, and audiences around the shared goal of highlighting humanitarian stories through cinema.
The festival featured a wide selection of films from around the world, all of which were evaluated through a two-round judging process by distinguished juries composed of internationally respected filmmakers and industry experts.
As part of the festival program, a panel discussion titled “Humanitarian Filmmaking” was held with the participation of the Main Jury Members. The panel included Elçin Musaoğlu (Director & Jury President), Sinan Taymin Albayrak (Actor), Narges Abyar (Director), and Andrea Tachler (Producer). The discussion focused on ethical storytelling, creative responsibility, and the role of cinema in raising awareness of humanitarian issues.
In addition, a Film Reading Workshop was organized with the Pre-Jury Members, offering an in-depth look into film evaluation and analysis processes. The workshop was conducted by Tülay Gökçimen (Producer & Director), Halil Kardaş (Producer), and Sinan Sertel (Director), and provided valuable insights for participants interested in filmmaking and film criticism.
Award Winners
The award ceremony concluded with the announcement of the winning films:

1st Prize: The Deer’s Tooth (Palestine)
2nd Prize: Ya Hanouni (France)
3rd Prize: Largo (United Kingdom)

The TRT Special Award was presented to Farfour: A War Diary from Gaza for its compelling and impactful narrative.
With its 2025 edition, the TRT Humanitarian Film Festival once again reaffirmed its commitment to amplifying human stories and fostering global dialogue through the power of cinema.
